Frequently Asked Questions
Our practice is a bulk billing practice. If you have a valid Medicare card your consultation will be bulk billed. There is however a few select items that incur a private fee, these include treatment room procedures, worker’s compensation and medicals. The fee for these appointments will be advised at the time of your booking. If you do not have a valid Medicare card our standard consultations are $60.00 and long consultations (more than 20mins) are $90.00.
Whilst we understand that sometimes things happen and you cannot make your booked appointment we do ask that you please contact our rooms to cancel this appointment. We do require a minimum of 2 hours for cancellations in order for us to ensure that this appointment time can be used by someone else who needs our care.
If you do not cancel your booked appointment or do not attend, you will be charged a fee of $40.00 for this missed appointment. It is a requirement of our practice that this fee is paid prior to any further appointments being booked in.
Where possible we will book you in with the same doctor. Unfortunately your preferred doctor may not always be available when you need them. If you cannot wait you can choose to have an appointment with another doctor who will have full access to your notes and then you can choose to return to your preferred doctor.
We are directly linked with The Bridge Family Practice and Skin Clinic in Halls Head who are open until 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. All patient notes are accessible at both sites for your convenience and continuity of care. Outside of these times we have an agreement with Dial-A-Doctor, who will visit your home and fully bulk bill your doctors visit. They will provide us with your treatment notes for your file. To book a visit with Dial-A-Doctor call 1300 030 030.
If you are too unwell to visit your GP please contact our rooms and we will discuss your individual situation with your doctor. Home visits are provided at the discretion of the GP.

Whilst we can appreciate that sometimes you just need to speak with your doctor, our doctors are usually consulting and as when you have an appointment they strive to give their patients the time they need in their appointment. As a result this means that we are unable to put you straight through to your doctor. We will however take a message and notify your doctor at the next available time dependent on the urgency. We do encourage where possible to make an appointment so that you can see your doctor.
Once you have had the required tests the results will come back to the doctor that referred you. Your doctor will review these results and if they are normal and no action is required you will not hear from us. If your results require a follow up appointment with your doctor we will send you a SMS indicating that you require a follow up appointment.
If your result require urgent follow up you will receive a call from either your doctor or the practice nurse requesting that you make an appointment to see your GP. For privacy reasons results will not be given out over the phone. If you would prefer to follow up with your doctor regardless of the result you are welcome to make an appointment to discuss your results.
For all of our consultation bookings, we use a computer generated SMS service for reminders of your appointment where your consent has been given. For your routine tests we have a recall system that ensures you will get sms reminding you that you are due for an appointment with your GP eg. in the event of an annual pap smear.
Unfortunately we do not have an encrypted email system and as a result we are unable to communicate via email unless your written consent is obtained. You are welcome to email our practice on email@example.com and it will be forwarded to your doctor however due to confidentiality we are unable to reply to your message with confidential information and our preferred method of contact for such information is to call our rooms or book an appointment.
